Delaware River Basin Commission's Advisory Committee on Climate Change is hosting the Forum on Climate Change and the Delaware River Basin. The program will be kicked off with remarks from DRBC Executive Director, Steven Tambini and featuring remarks from NJ Governor Phil Murphy.
New Jersey Governor Philip D. Murphy serves as a DRBC Commissioner and has been an active leader in the study and planning for dealing with climate change in the region. He is a former American financier and diplomat, who has served as the governor of New Jersey since January 2018. Since taking office, Governor Murphy has focused on building a stronger and fairer New Jersey that works for every family. Under his leadership, New Jersey is also emerging as a leader in combatting climate change through the deployment of offshore-wind energy technologies and banning offshore fossil-fuel exploration and drilling, among other measures to spur growth in the clean and renewable energy sectors. In 2009, he answered President Obama’s call to service and, following his confirmation by the United States Senate, became the U.S. Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, where he served until 2013. Governor Murphy holds degrees from Harvard University and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He will kick off the Advisory Committee on Climate Change (ACCC) Forum on Climate Change and the Delaware River Basin with a prerecorded message on March 2, 2021 at 9 AM.
